Renton Thurston is a 14 year old boy who considers his home town boring. He lives with his grandfather after his father (A military scientist) dies saving the world.
Renton's only real hobby is "lifting" a sport simliar to surfing - which uses particles in the air known as 'trapar' as a medium. Renton dreams of joining a renegade group - the Gekkostate lead by his hero Holland who is a legendary lifter.
A mysterious robot - piloted by a beautiful girl named Eureka crashes into Renton's room one night. Eureka is also a member of Gekkostate, and after meeting his hero - Holland, Renton is invited to join.
Little does Renton know that by joining the Gekko, an amazing adventure with the fate of the world at stake awaits him.
